Landfill director seeks renewal of USDA vector-control contract; price up 3% for CPI

Jackie Davis, Crook County landfill director, briefed commissioners at the Jan. 28 work session on the annual vector-control services agreement provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
"As part of our solid waste management permit, we're required to provide vector control services. We utilize USDA for those services," Davis said. She told the board the agreement is a renewal for the coming year and noted the price increased by 3% based on the consumer price index; she added that the county has budgeted funds in the contract-services line to cover the increase.
Commissioners asked whether staff were satisfied with the vendor; Davis said she was "very happy with them." The board agreed to place the renewal on the consent agenda for the next meeting.
The work session included no formal vote on the renewal. The item is expected to appear on the board's consent agenda for the upcoming regular meeting.
