AUBURN HILLS — The Auburn Hills City Council on Jan. 5 confirmed Sam Badoon to a seat on the city’s Zoning Board of Appeals for a term ending July 31, 2026.
Badoon briefly addressed the council before the vote, saying he would be “very honored to serve on the Zoning Board of Appeals, and I’m going to do my best and take the interest of the community as a whole when whatever decision that I make on that board.” The statement was made at the podium during the appointment item.
Councilmember Jack Ferguson moved to approve the appointment; Ron Moniz seconded. The council recorded affirmative votes from Ron Moniz, Jack Ferguson, Dr. Fletcher, Mayor Pro Tem Marzoff, Mr. Knight and Mayor Hawkins, and the motion carried.
The appointment fills one vacancy on the Zoning Board of Appeals. No public comments were offered on the appointment during the meeting. The council handled the matter as a standard confirmation; no conditions or amendments to the appointment were recorded.
