The Uinta County Board of County Commissioners ratified a $2,410 Creative Aging grant for the Uinta County Library designed for residents 55 and older.
Jenny Bird, purchasing and grants, told commissioners the award from the Utah Department of Cultural and Community Engagement will fund an eight‑week course beginning in March that covers instructor fees, advertising and student supplies for up to 12 participants and is fully funded by the grant. Bird said "Lauren's reviewed the contract" and legal language was approved before the commission was asked to ratify the award.
Commissioners voted to ratify the grant. Library lead Lindsay North was identified as the program lead who wrote the grant and will run the course. The library will proceed to enroll participants and implement the program under the grant's reporting requirements.
