Cypress School Board adopts 2025–26 LCAP and budget, approves consolidated application to state

At its June 18 meeting the Cypress School District Board of Trustees voted to adopt three major items for 2025–26: the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), the district’s 2025–26 budget, and the district’s 2025–26 consolidated application to the California Department of Education (CDE). Each item was moved and seconded and the board recorded the motions as carried.
Board members thanked staff for revisions to the LCAP. One trustee specifically thanked staff for incorporating comments from the prior meeting; Superintendent Slaus and district staff provided a brief explanation of the consolidated application’s purpose. A district staff member said the consolidated application "is a requirement for us to submit in order to receive federal money for our Title programs, and that serves our low income English learners and teacher professional development."
The board recorded the votes as 'Aye' and declared the motions carried for all three items; the record in the meeting transcript shows voice votes and the board announced "Motion carries" for each. No roll-call tallies naming individual yes/no votes were read aloud in the open session transcript. The board reconvened after a closed session for a superintendent performance evaluation and adjourned at about 7:07 p.m.
