Parent City Council reviewed and approved an updated city fee schedule that changes service charges, rental rates and adds refundable deposits for some facilities.
Council examined fees that include notary and copy charges, city-hall and pavilion rental fees, table and chair rental rates, and fairgrounds power-connection fees. Councilors debated whether nonresident fees and cleaning deposits should be raised. Council discussed accountability for tables and chairs taken off-site and the need for improved tracking to reduce losses.
A council amendment added a refundable deposit requirement for the art pavilion and the concession at the fairgrounds (the amended motion called for a $100 refundable deposit). The council then approved the fee schedule as amended by voice vote.
Council asked staff to revisit the schedule periodically and to track fee revenue and expenditures to support replacement of furniture and equipment if rental losses continue.
