Parent City Council accepted multiple bids related to fairgrounds upkeep and public-works tree trimming.
For tree trimming at several city locations, staff read two competitive bids: one for $11,400 and one itemized bid from Scott's RV Storage for $12,100. After discussion about locations and logistics, the council voted to accept Scott's RV Storage's bid for $12,100.
Separately, council opened bids for an old stock-show building the city determined was not structurally sound and could not be reused. One bidder, Taylor (Tanner) Bailey, submitted $500 to dismantle and remove the structure. Council approved the bid and instructed the successful bidder to remove the building by November 1 so construction can proceed.
Councilors and staff discussed removal logistics and noted the bidder will be responsible for demolition and site cleanup. Both approvals were made by voice vote during the meeting.
