Board approves minutes, routine consent items, personnel and financials; several items held for follow‑up

At its meeting the Waukegan CUSD 60 Board of Education approved routine and consent agenda items, ratified personnel changes and accepted the administration’s financial reports.

The board approved minutes for meetings on Dec. 9, Dec. 16, 2025 and Jan. 13, 2026 by roll call votes. It approved the academic consent agenda with items a–e while holding item B (Earth Angels program) and item D (Cook School Broadway teachers' workshop) for further review over procurement and finance questions. The operations consent agenda was approved (items f–h and others as clarified) after correcting a reading/clarification error on which items were being voted.

Personnel actions—including appointments, retirements, resignations and terminations listed on schedules provided to the board—were accepted on the administration's recommendation. The board ratified accounts payable board payments for 01/07/2026 through 01/20/2026 totaling $2,029,212.25 and manual check requests totaling $1,707,255.88; one board member recorded a 'pass' on that vote.

Motions and roll call votes on these routine items were recorded throughout the meeting. The board asked administration to return with more information for the items held and to provide follow‑up reporting on programs requested during public comment.

The meeting concluded with a motion to return to closed session for personnel and litigation matters, which carried by roll call.
