Drug task force reports large methamphetamine seizures and six convictions in October

Mote said investigators had about 50 open cases and closed six during the month. "We received 1,439 grams of marijuana, 8,777 grams of methamphetamine, 58 grams of cocaine, 4 grams of heroin, 6.6 of LSD, 5.5 ecstasy pills, 26.24 grams of psilocybin mushrooms," he said, and added the unit disrupted three drug trafficking organizations and recorded six convictions for October.
The chair and other members underscored the methamphetamine totals’ scale, noting the monthly figure equates to roughly 19 pounds. The report also listed expenditures for evidence and intelligence and described community meetings conducted during the reporting period.
The task force did not present a written breakdown of year-to-date totals or district-level seizure locations during the meeting. No formal policy actions were taken; the presentation was informational.
The task force is scheduled to meet next on Dec. 17 at the Springdale Police Department.
