Staff recommended forming a local celebration committee (with one legislative representative) and submitting a Qualtrics application and required documents (including a resolution) to capture the funds.
Council approved the resolution and the formation of a local celebrations committee; the county had separately approved a similar resolution. Staff said the state contact will follow up in January and that early submission was recommended to secure funds.
The $1,500 is intended to support local programming in July 2026 as part of the national/state bicentennial activities.
