County staff report two architect proposals for MCAT facility; garage nears completion with May 31 dedication planned

County staff presented scoring for architectural design services for the MCAT facility and reported progress on a new county garage at the Morrow County commissioners’ April 28 meeting.
Speaker 2 introduced the scoring step for qualification of architects for the MCAT facility. Jamie (Speaker 3) told the board that two well-qualified firms submitted proposals; she said pricing will likely determine which firm is selected and noted that one firm had recently worked on the county’s health care facility. Commissioners moved and recorded the scoring action as part of the procurement process; no firm was awarded at the meeting.
Jamie also gave a construction update on the county garage, which she said is in the final stretch of work. She reported several inspections are underway, with a major power inspection next week and a final inspection to follow. Jamie said the county plans an open house and dedication on May 31 (open house 9–11 a.m., formal ceremony at 11 a.m.). She offered to coordinate a formal flyer with Gloria and reach out to local and state elected officials to invite them to the event.
The board did not make final procurement awards for the MCAT facility; staff and the county engineer will continue the evaluation and pricing review. The meeting recessed for an inspection visit and later returned to complete the agenda before adjourning.
