A commissioner announced at the Oct. 15 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting that the commission chair has resigned effective Dec. 1 and will be moving out of the area.
The announcement, made during planning and zoning information, said details of the resignation and the application window for the vacancy will be included in the council packet. Staff said applications will likely be due in mid-November and that either the staff contact "Anne" or the announcing commissioner would share the exact deadline and application instructions.
Separately, staff reminded commissioners of a joint City Council–Planning and Zoning work session on the comprehensive plan next Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m. in the same meeting room. The consultant will share results from public engagement activities (website input, pop-up events, focus groups and stakeholder interviews); a final report is expected later in the planning process.
The commission adjourned after completing agenda business. The resignation announcement means the commission will have a vacancy to fill before the next regular meeting; City Council will post application instructions and schedule interviews or appointments per the usual process described in the council packet.
