Legal aid and landlords: panelists outline limits of tenant protections and long Section 8 wait list

Elizabeth Norris, managing attorney of the Legal Hotline for Older Iowans at Iowa Legal Aid, told the Iowa City audience that Iowa Legal Aid opened 6,783 housing cases statewide in the prior 12 months and closed 5,710 rental-housing cases, with more than 2,000 closed favorably (delaying or preventing evictions) in that period.
