Airport staff report FAA project status, AMP pre-application and budget review

The commission reported a budget review with the city manager and finance department "went pretty well" with no substantive concerns raised in the meeting. Speaker 2 noted the recent passage of a 1% local option sales tax, which should help city resources and could indirectly aid airport funding.
Operations comments from the FBO (Unidentified Speaker 3) said a new hangar is complete and that game‑day traffic has increased activity at the field; staff are managing runway and ramp use to free space for transient traffic. The commission discussed community events planned at the airport, including movie nights, a pancake breakfast and a Young Eagles event.
No formal action was recorded on the grant or AMP pre-application during the meeting; staff said they will apply for DOT funds in the spring and will meet internally to finalize matching funds and specifications.
