Public safety, school access, and grant funding (staff said potential funds could total more than $600,000 in 2027 if awarded) were cited as drivers for the request.
Council voted 7-0 to support the measure and to direct staff to continue grant work and coordinate with Caltrans on the corridor improvements. The item is intended to advance grant applications and local advocacy but did not authorize direct project funding tonight.
