TidyTown volunteers withdraw proposal to refine plan after council feedback

Beaver City — Presenters Chris Williams and Mary Anne White told the council on Jan. 27 they would withdraw their TidyTown initiative request for now and return later with a revised plan after additional research and conversations with other small Utah communities.
Speaking to the council, the presenters said their intent was to encourage voluntary property beautification, not to single out individuals, and that they had discussed alternatives with City Manager Hawkins and staff. “We have decided to withdraw our request for this initiative at this time,” Chris Williams said, and added they would study examples from other towns and bring a refined proposal back to the council.
Councilors thanked the pair for their passion and invited them to stay for the downtown revitalization discussion.
What’s next: The organizers plan further research and will return with a revised initiative for council consideration.
