The Morrow County engineer presented bids for the MRW CR 23-1.12 bridge replacement over Lumen Creek during the May 21 meeting. Three sealed bids were read into the record: Crawford Construction, $593,896.22; R and I Construction, $591,664.90; and V O Menuez, $614,230.15.
Commissioners moved to hold the bids for review by the county engineer rather than awarding the contract at the meeting. The board noted prior county experience with Crawford Construction and discussed bidder locations and histories: Crawford Construction (Tiffin), R and I Construction (references to West Holmes) and a bidder identified as Millersburg in discussion. The motion to hold the bids for review was seconded and approved by roll call.
What happens next: the county engineer will review submitted bids and return a recommendation to the board for contract award or further action.
