An unidentified speaker thanked the city’s public safety employees for their response to the storm and asked residents to ‘‘check on some folks around you and make sure everybody's okay’’ after reports that a frozen spigot had burst at an elderly resident’s home and required assistance. Councilman Mark Hopper led the pledge of allegiance earlier in the meeting.
The clerk reported there were no public forum appearances that evening. The mayor called for a motion to receive the Jan. 13 minutes; a motion and a second were made, and in roll call Mister Arrowood, Mister Booker, Mister Hopper, Mister Lander, Mister Bettis, Mister Graham and Mayor Danner each answered yes, approving the minutes.
After the vote the presiding officer announced a special recognition and an employee recognition segment and invited Mister Merriman and Mister Taylor Graham to the front for those items. No ordinances, resolutions, contracts or further votes were recorded in the portion of the transcript provided.
The council then proceeded to the recognitions portion of the agenda.
