The board ratified two CDW contracts for Panasonic Toughbooks: one for 15 replacement units and one for 15 squad-mounted units, each contract listed at $96,895.05. Staff said the purchases were combined to avoid a 15% price increase after a quote expired. "If we renewed it Friday, it would go up 15%," a staffer said, explaining the urgency to place orders.
Separately, Captain Travis Snyder asked the board to approve renewal of the Genesys Protect real-time secure communications and collaboration platform at a cost of $10,380. Snyder said the platform replaced a previous vendor that went out of business and that the agreement had been approved by legal and IT. The board approved the renewal and authorized Captain Snyder to sign the physical documents on behalf of the city.
The board approved ratification of the CDW purchases and granted signing authority to Captain Snyder for the related paperwork. No additional financing sources or alternative vendors were discussed at the meeting.
