An applicant who spoke described the addition as modest, suggested the setback issue derived from original construction choices by a prior builder, and said the expansion was needed to accommodate family gatherings.
Planning staff and the chair indicated the matter should proceed smoothly at council and said they hope to streamline similar processes in future.
