RISING SUN, Md. — The Rising Sun Board of Commissioners voted Nov. 10 to approve an addendum to the town’s trash and recycling contract permitting neighboring municipalities to join the contract at the same service rate.
Town Administrator Calvin said the addendum lets Charlestown (and possibly Perryville later) be served under the same contract and rules without making Rising Sun responsible for Charlestown billing or unpaid accounts. The arrangement is intended to leverage bulk purchasing power while maintaining distinct customer service and liability for each participating town.
The board moved and seconded the measure and approved it by voice vote. Officials said the final addendum language could be signed by the town administrator once minor clarifications are resolved and the contractor confirms details.
