County staff reported that MOCO, the county transit provider, began using TripMaster dispatch software on Nov. 1 and will soon be able to offer more on-demand rides and easier scheduling.
Speaker 5 provided Q3 operational data: 19,000 revenue miles, 1,146 revenue hours and 2,282 unlinked passenger rides. Staff said the TripMaster system should let MOCO extend same-day ride options (previously, riders had to call by 3:30 p.m. to schedule next-day service) and that a targeted outreach campaign is planned for January through March 2026 to increase public awareness and ridership.
Updates to senior services included private contributions and grants: Empire Electric pledged $4,000 for senior services in FY26; staff reported a $2,000 grant award and approximately $2,800 in emergency food funding for home-delivered meals. Quarterly senior-meal figures were stated as 5,284 meals served and 1,176 AAA rides in the quarter discussed. Staff acknowledged one vacant transit position and said hiring efforts are underway.
Staff emphasized the need for improved outreach because some residents—particularly seniors—remain unaware of the transit service despite recent vehicle wraps and other visibility efforts. Further ridership trends will be reported after additional months of operation and data collection.
