Council approves memorandum of understanding with IAFF Local 35; union president thanks mayor and staff

The North Little Rock City Council unanimously adopted a resolution authorizing acceptance of a memorandum of understanding between the city and International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) Local 35.
Brent Treadway, president of Local 35, addressed the council and offered thanks for what he called productive negotiations, singling out Mayor Hartwick, Chief of Staff Mike Davis and CFO Amber Strange. "First thing I'd like to say is thank you to all you guys for all your support throughout the years," Treadway said, and described the negotiations as "a smooth deal this time around."
Mayor Hartwick thanked the union and suggested a ceremonial signing at the Central Fire Station once scheduling allows; the mayor and council members moved and seconded the resolution and recorded votes in favor.
The resolution (R20197) authorizes acceptance of the MOU; the council recorded a vote to adopt the resolution and indicated a formal signing would be scheduled at the fire station in coming weeks.
