Commission staff member James told the commission the last increase was implemented in 2024 but not applied until midyear; the commission had directed staff to bring the increase back on a set schedule. "It's a 15% increase," James said when outlining the proposal. Chair and a majority of commissioners then moved, seconded and approved the adjustment in a roll-call vote.
The increase was described as following the commission's previous direction and the need to provide 90 days' notice to tenants. Commissioners did not amend the proposed percentage during the meeting. The commission recorded the outcome and asked staff to mail notices to tenants and to implement the new rates on the April 1 effective date.
The change will apply to city-managed hangar leases; staff said notices will be mailed to affected tenants. No amendments or conditions to delay the effective date were adopted during the meeting.
The commission did not discuss specific dollar amounts per hangar in public session beyond the percentage increase; tenants and staff will receive written notices with the effective date and implementation details.
