City planning staff provided two brief updates: outreach on a prospective Boys & Girls Club location and interim code-enforcement arrangements.
Clara said Otter Tail County is inviting interested residents to a meeting on Monday, Sept. 30, 5–6 p.m. at the Roosevelt Education Center to discuss the Boys & Girls Club potentially locating in Fergus Falls. She said the organization has startup funds but has not selected a site and that the city may need to participate in future site discussions.
On code enforcement, Clara said Len Taylor is the staff contact for code-enforcement questions in the absence of a dedicated code-enforcement officer and that multiple staff will assist as needed. Clara noted the city is still working through staffing considerations as part of the 2025 budget process.
Next steps: interested residents can attend the county-hosted meeting; staff will return to the commission with any updates about the Boys & Girls Club site selection and with staffing plans related to code enforcement as the 2025 budget process advances.
