Hlachka described the process used to develop the plan—data analysis, a SWOT review, a 58-person stakeholder group forming design and action teams—and outlined the plan’s core statements, priority areas and scorecard measures intended to track progress over three to five years. The plan’s motto is “Building Futures Together,” and the mission statement reads in part as “building relationships, inspiring success, and empowering all.”
Hlachka summarized five priorities: (1) challenging and meaningful learning experiences (student performance and accountability), (2) life‑ready students (college, career and military readiness plus co‑curricular engagement), (3) positive community culture (family communication and staff satisfaction), (4) growth‑minded personnel (teacher retention and staffing timelines), and (5) strategic operational stewardship (budget deficit, technology age, enrollment and attendance).
Trustee Bright moved to approve the strategic plan and Trustee Duncan seconded; the motion passed 7–0. “Once you have approved the vision and objectives, then Dr. Lee will initiate the deployment plan,” Hlachka told trustees, noting the district will embed strategic actions into campus improvement plans, budgeting, and evaluation instruments.
Board members praised the process and noted student involvement during design sessions. The plan includes an explicit deployment timeline: leaders will initiate deployment and monitoring early in the coming semester, with the board receiving routine scorecard updates (monthly or quarterly depending on the measure).
The board’s approval authorizes administration to begin roll-out activities, public communication and integration of the plan into district improvement and evaluation processes.
