Agoura Hills council approves $69,593 in CDBG funds for senior services and future projects

Agoura Hills City Council unanimously approved use of Community Development Block Grant funds for the 2026–27 program year, prioritizing senior social services and reserving leftover funds for a future capital project.
Amy Brink, director of community services, told the council that the CDBG program is administered by the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) and funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Staff recommended approval of Resolution No. 26-2124 and appropriating $69,593 in available CDBG funds for the upcoming fiscal year.
Brink noted council previously allocated CDBG funds toward the Morrison Park ADA path-of-travel improvements and that the recommended allocations would continue support for senior programs including caregiver support, health and finance education and in-person and virtual services.
Council members expressed support for the senior services focus and thanked the Community Services Subcommittee for its work. Council member Chris Anstead moved and Mayor Pro Tem Deborah Klein Lopez seconded approval; the resolution passed on a 5–0 roll call.
Next steps: Staff will submit the approved project list to LACDA for final project approval and implement the approved senior programs in coordination with the Department of Community Services.
