Miles Seppold, Hutchinson’s economic development director, provided a roundup of local projects, saying crews are clearing a parcel at the Highway 7 and 15 intersection to make the site development‑ready. “There’s been a certain little amount, cleanup work going on,” Seppold said, adding the realtor indicated no specific project had been announced yet.
Seppold said a Sherwin‑Williams paint store is under construction on the south end of Highway 15 beside O’Reilly Auto Parts and is expected to remain under construction through winter with a likely opening by late summer next year. He also gave a visual progress update on The Landing apartment project, noting large prefabricated wall framing sections are on site, the garage level is nearly enclosed and the project remains on schedule to open in December despite cold weather.
On community services, Seppold announced Guiding Light Childcare Center is now open and enrolling preschool and school‑age children, with up to 42 slots currently available. Seppold encouraged families who need childcare to contact the center to enroll.
Seppold closed the segment with contact information for questions about economic development projects and said he would return in future updates with more progress reports.
