The City Council on Jan. 27 approved a contract to buy 9315 Davidson Street from Yasmin Siddiqui for $230,000 plus settlement costs, with the purchase described as intended for open space and community programming in the College Park Woods neighborhood.
City Manager Young presented the acquisition and said the property will provide passive recreation space and programming opportunities. "This is an acquisition primarily for open space and community space within the College Park Woods community," Young said, noting city staff and parks/planning coordination and grants work that advanced the purchase.
Councilmember Mitchell moved to approve the purchase authorization and the motion passed by voice vote. The council then introduced Ordinance 2601 to authorize acquisition of the property for a public purpose; the public hearing on the ordinance was scheduled for Feb. 24, 2026.
What happens next: staff will proceed with the purchase process under the contract terms and the council will hold a public hearing on Ordinance 2601 in late February as part of the formal state-required steps for municipal acquisition of property.
