Saginaw Planning Commission elects Carla Lamar as 2026 chair

Carla Lamar was elected chair of the Saginaw Planning Commission for 2026 after a nomination from Mayor Moore and a motion that carried without objection.
The vote followed routine business in which the commission approved the Nov. 25, 2025 minutes and the meeting agenda. Mayor Moore nominated Lamar for chair; Lamar accepted the nomination. The chair called for the vote, and commissioners approved the nomination by voice vote.
Commissioners then opened nominations for vice chair. Commissioner Nash and Commissioner Weidinger were nominated, and commissioners discussed voting procedures before conducting a roll call on the vice-chair race.
The meeting proceeded to public-comment rules and the regular agenda. There were no public speakers during the public-comment period.
The commission adjourned at the end of the evening after taking up new and old business.
