Board approves Eastern Elementary resolution and selects architect and CMAR

On design services, the superintendent referenced a proposed architecture-fee cap described as "not to exceed 6.75" during discussion and asked the board to authorize negotiation of a design-services agreement. The board authorized the board chair, superintendent, and finance officer to negotiate and execute the design agreement on behalf of the board, and the motion passed unanimously.
For construction delivery, the district’s selection committee interviewed roughly 12–13 applicants and narrowed the field to four finalists. The committee recommended Edifice Construction based on references and prior public-school CMAR experience; board members on the committee described Edifice as highly experienced in K–12 CMAR projects. The board approved Edifice Construction as construction manager at risk by voice vote.
Board members also agreed to make recordings and architecture-design materials from community meetings available online by request, and staff committed to posting the materials to the district website.
