Council approves consent agenda, proclaims Amateur Radio Week, honors Aynor softball and names two Solid Waste Authority directors

Horry County Council approved routine business items and several recognitions during its meeting.
A recusal was noted at the start: Mr. Mascarelli was recused from paragraph 1 concerning ordinance 54-2025 before the consent agenda vote, which the council approved unanimously. The council adopted a proclamation recognizing June 28–29 as Amateur Radio Field Day/Amateur Radio Week and invited representatives from the Grand Strand Amateur Radio Club; Todd Rush, the club president, thanked commissioners and invited families to field day activities.
Council also adopted a resolution congratulating the Aynor High School Lady Blue Jackets for winning the 2025 South Carolina Class 3A state softball championship; coach and staff thanked council and highlighted the seniors' college commitments. Later in the meeting council counted ballots to fill two positions on the Solid Waste Authority Board of Directors and announced that Beau Ives and Robert Kemp were selected.
Council then moved through memorial dedications, announced upcoming meeting dates and adjourned. No executive session was held.
