Horry County Council clears a slate of rezoning and ordinance items; camping ban is referred back to committee

Gore (109‑2025), Thomas & Hutton/Eastern Shores (110‑2025), Jason White/Dana Faircloth (111‑2025), John McDonald (112‑2025), Sachs & Company (113‑2025), and Antioch Farms LLC (114‑2025). For many items, councilors said "aye" and the motions carried.
The council also approved zoning-ordinance amendments addressing group housing and permitted uses/limited manufacturing and industrial uses (ordinances amending articles 2, 5, 14 etc.) and adopted ordinance 103 to reduce regulation on consensual towing operations in the county.
Council took second reading on an ordinance to prohibit camping on county property (referred to in materials as ordinance 100‑4‑2025). The second reading itself passed by voice vote, and then the council voted to refer the ordinance back to the I&R (INR) subcommittee for minor technical edits before final consideration.
What’s next: Most items passed on second reading or by acclamation and will appear as final readings or be placed on future consent calendars as appropriate; the camping ordinance will return after the I&R subcommittee reviews the suggested tweaks.
