Commission elects new chair and vice chair for 2026
Summary
At its Jan. 15 meeting the Active Transportation Commission unanimously elected a new chair and vice chair for 2026; the commission will forward the annual report and advance the Howe and Norwood plans to City Council.
The Active Transportation Commission conducted a procedural vote to select its 2026 leadership. Commissioner Haupt nominated Isaac Gonzales for chair; Commissioner Gibson was nominated for vice chair. The clerk recorded a motion by Commissioner Harris, seconded by Commissioner Haupt, to appoint Commissioner Gonzales as chair and Commissioner Gibson as vice chair; the commission approved the motion unanimously of those present.
Chair Hodel said she will finish out the current meeting and that a transition will occur at a future meeting. Commissioners noted they will accompany staff to upcoming committee and Council hearings when planned items are calendared.
The leadership change is procedural; the commission will continue its scheduled agenda items and forward the Howe Avenue and Norwood Mobility plans to City Council for consideration.
