Pulaski County commissioners approve routine business, consultants and facility evaluations

Pulaski County commissioners on Jan. 30 approved a string of routine items and several staff-recommended contracts and projects.
The board voted to approve the Jan. 5 regular-session minutes and to accept claims and payroll “number 2.” Commissioners approved a correction and adoption of the Title VI implementation plan after staff clarified the previously approved document was the wrong transition plan. The Paramount Consulting Agreement — intended to perform a feasibility study to help EMS improve efficiency — was approved following a motion and second.
In finance business, the Board of Finance elected Jennifer Knebel as president and Don Street as secretary, approved the 2025 investment report and the two-year-warrant list (uncashed checks reverting to origin funds), and adopted an investment policy. The treasurer’s office received approval to adopt an “Auto Agent” payment agreement that would add pay-by-phone and automatic-payment options beyond the county’s current PayGov offering.
Facilities work moved forward: staff reported progress on courthouse HVAC fixes and first-floor entrance work, and commissioners authorized a comprehensive ADA evaluation of the courthouse by consultant David Mills at a proposed cost of just over $18,000, to be paid from construction contingency funds when they are released.
Other approvals included a Soil and Water bond for Michelle Fox and the commissioning of La Porte Construction to perform bridge work under the community crossings grant. The board also accepted a truck transfer from the sheriff’s department for highway use.
The meeting closed after public comment and routine adjournment.
