At the start of its Dec. 18 meeting, the Tenino Planning Commission approved the Nov. 13 meeting minutes following a motion by Speaker 2 and a second by Speaker 1; the vote was recorded by voice as "Aye."
Late in the meeting, Chair or meeting leader (Speaker 1) announced that Commissioner Darnell had submitted a resignation letter. Speaker 2 moved to accept the resignation and the motion passed by a voice vote. "Darnell has issued her resignation letter for the Planning Commission," Speaker 1 said, after which Speaker 2 moved to accept and the body voted in favor.
Commissioners discussed outreach to fill the vacancy, including doing a social-media recruitment push and personal outreach. Speaker 1 said no applications have been received to date and asked commissioners to identify potential candidates. "We need to get some more people on here," Speaker 1 said; Speaker 2 suggested a social blast and members agreed to undertake recruitment efforts.
The commission adjourned with holiday greetings.
