Riverview honors Taste of Riverview winners and annual holiday decorating contest

Riverview — City leaders recognized local businesses, volunteers and homeowners at the Nov. 25, 2025 council meeting, presenting awards from the recent "Taste of Riverview and beyond" event and certificates for the 27th annual holiday-decorating contest.

Todd, the event organizer or staff lead noted at the meeting, said the Taste event — held the night before the tree lighting — featured roughly 20 restaurants and vendors and invited attendees to vote for their favorites. "We had 20 different restaurants or vendors come out to be a part of it... the tent was packed," Todd said. He named the Riverview High School culinary program as the honorable mention, Parthenon Coney Island and Restaurant in third place, Pizzapopolis in second and Domads in first place.

Todd also thanked city staff for event support: "Ashley and Karen from my staff did a great job on getting all the vendors and getting everything set up," he said.

Council members also presented holiday-decorating awards, noting the tradition has run for about 27 years. Named winners included Karen Pearson (repeat winner), Brian and Michelle Maloney and David and Tina Duig; the council presented wreaths from the Kiwanis Club along with certificates.

The recognitions were largely ceremonial and were followed by routine council business, including approvals of minutes and appointments later on the agenda.
