Council fills committee seats, plans Brownfields resolution and shared economic development MOU

Multiple councilmembers agreed a renewal resolution should be prepared for the next meeting. "So for next week, we'll have a resolution reestablishing it," Speaker 1 said.
Separately, staff provided a notice that an MOU would come to the next council meeting to fund a shared economic development director through the Downriver Community Conference (DCC). Speaker 2 said the position would be funded half by a grant, with Riverview and River Rouge each paying one-quarter; the director would spend roughly 20 hours per week in Riverview. Councilmembers said they want a job description and accountability metrics and asked staff to provide those details before final approval.
No formal roll-call votes on committee assignments, the Brownfields resolution or the MOU were recorded in the meeting transcript; several items were scheduled for action at the next council meeting.
