Council highlights community events: Taste of Riverview, tree lighting and holiday activities

Ty Dickman of the recreation department announced the annual home-decorating contest; judges will visit next week and winners are expected to be named at the next council meeting. Council members praised the recent Taste of Riverview and tree-lighting ceremony, citing roughly 20 vendors and an estimated 360 attendees, and thanked DPW and a long list of sponsors for supporting holiday activities.
A Riverview resident invited the community to a Neighborhood Watch pizza party and caroling event on Dec. 14 and noted a Facebook invite and posts on local pages. City staff also noted that Riverview Highlands offers indoor golf simulators and promoted gift-shopping support for the Goodfellows program, which organizes holiday assistance for families.
Councilman Webb reminded residents a public-engagement survey for the 2040 Vision Plan is open through midnight on Dec. 12; compiled results will be discussed at a Dec. 18 committee meeting open to the public.
