Riverview council introduces new officer, hears public comments and approves appointments, vehicle purchase and letter-of-credit resolution

Resident John Hakes used the public-comment period to praise former city manager and current Councilmember Dean Workman for decades of service, saying, "Take away his efforts during that time and there simply wouldn't be a Riverview as we know it today." Scott Williams announced his campaign for city council and invited residents to a meet-and-greet at Young Patriots Park.
On the consent agenda and other business the council moved through several items with unanimous roll-call votes. A motion by Councilmember Pray, supported by Councilmember Robins, approved the minutes and a condensed version of the Sept. 15, 2025 council meeting. The council voted to appoint Ricky Travis to the Parks and Recreation Commission for a regular two-year term expiring July 31, 2027. It also approved the reappointment of one regular member to a city board with a term to expire July 31, 2028.
Council accepted the police chief's vehicle proposal and agreement for the purchase of one 2023 Dodge vehicle; the transcript does not specify the purchase price.
