Council amends code to allow nonresident business owners on Code Enforcement Board

The Wenatchee City Council adopted Ordinance 2024-19 to amend section 2.10.02 of the Wenatchee City Code, allowing business owners who do not reside within the city limits to serve on the Code Enforcement Board.
Community Development staff said the change mirrors existing provisions for the Historic Board and the Planning Commission and will let business owners who have an interest in the city’s affairs serve on the Code Enforcement Board. Community Development Director Glenn introduced the proposal, noting it provides the same option currently available to other boards and commissions.
Council Member Ewer moved to adopt the ordinance; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The change takes effect per the ordinance language and will broaden the pool of potential members for the Code Enforcement Board.
