Council adopts parking bans on South Clay and Butters Avenue to improve traffic flow

For South Clay, staff described parking on the roadway near US‑12 as a hindrance to traffic flow and recommended prohibiting parking on South Clay just south of US‑12; council adopted resolution 250102.
For Butters Avenue, staff said reconstruction (curb and gutter) north of West Garfield created a narrower roadway and staff recommended prohibiting parking between West Garfield and the railroad. The proposal was made at the request of an adjacent business, Alchem Aluminum, and staff recommended adoption of resolution 25104; council adopted the order by voice vote.
Both actions instruct the Department of Municipal Services and public safety to implement signage and enforcement consistent with the adopted orders.
