Murray City council adopted an ordinance July 1 amending chapter 2.68 of the municipal code to change the MCCD (design review) committee’s name to the Form Based Code Architectural Review Committee.
Chad Wilkinson, who presented the proposed amendment, said the change aligns the code with the city’s recently adopted form-based zoning and makes only minor adjustments to committee duties. Wilkinson told council the committee is voluntary and serves without compensation; members have expressed willingness to continue serving under the new name.
Councilmember Paul Pickett moved to approve the ordinance and Diane Turner seconded. During the roll call the vote was recorded as 'Aye' by multiple members and the motion passed.
Wilkinson said there are no new costs associated with the change because the committee is volunteer-based. The ordinance modifies organizational language and clarifies duties to match the form-based code framework.
