The Murray City Council on May 13 voted 5–0 to give notice of intent to adjust specified portions of Murray’s wastewater service boundary that overlap with the Mid Valley Improvement District.
Ben Ford explained to the council that this is primarily a clerical correction: Mid Valley’s service records had not been updated since 1947 and two Murray parcels were listed inconsistently. Ford identified the properties affected in the staff presentation as 756 East Winchester and 6525 South Winchester/State Street (the Sam’s Club property) and said the change does not alter city boundaries or change service provision for the Sam’s Club site. Notices will be mailed to roughly 76 nearby properties, and a public hearing is scheduled for July 15.
The resolution was advanced after the council confirmed the 60‑day notice timeline with staff. Council members characterized the item as housekeeping intended to clear up recordkeeping and ensure consistent taxation and service records.
