Castle Valley — The council on Jan. 21 approved a 2.8% cost-of-living adjustment for town employees and authorized payment of the town's bills.
At the meeting, a council member proposed a 2.8% COLA "to keep us in line with what Social Security does." Members voted in favor by vocal assent. The council then moved and seconded a separate motion to pay the town's bills; the motion carried after vocal 'Aye' responses.
What this means: The COLA will apply to town employees consistent with the council's motion and will be incorporated into payroll. The council also approved routine payment of bills as presented.
