City staff presented Life EMS’s Q4 2025 and 2025 annual operations report on Jan. 26, summarizing calls, transports and on-scene treatments performed inside Allegan city limits and noting the city’s contract compensation is about $40,000 per year.
Staff said the Allegan service area under contract includes Allegan city and the surrounding townships (Allegan Township, Valley Township, Cheshire Township, and Trowbridge Township). Council members asked for additional detail and staff offered to invite John Pinkster, Life EMS CEO / director of South Operations, to attend a future meeting to provide a fuller presentation and answer questions about operations, coverage and contract terms.
Council did not take formal action on the report; staff offered to schedule a CEO briefing if several council members request it.
Next steps: staff to coordinate with Life EMS and schedule a presentation upon council request.
