The court approved Resolution 2026-006 authorizing the judge executive or designee to apply for Petco Love grant funds and to execute necessary award documents if the application is successful. The motion carried on roll call.
The court also approved Resolution 2026-007 to enter an interlocal agreement with the City of Richmond for animal-shelter services. Treasurer Sarah said the proposed arrangement would shift the city away from daily per-animal sheltering fees and toward paying 25% of the shelter’s total operating budget while the county continues to provide sheltering, care and adoption services for animals brought in by residents, animal-control officers or law enforcement.
The court approved hiring recommendations from the personnel packet and a motion to pay claims and approve transfers. The clerk called the roll on those items and the magistrates voted to approve them.
No public comments were received during the meeting’s public-comment period. The court set its next meeting for Feb. 10, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in the courthouse annex courtroom and then adjourned.
