Modesto CPRB elects Latricia Beasley Day chair, Frank Emeril vice chair for 2026

The Modesto Community Police Review Board on Jan. 2026 elected Latricia Beasley Day as chair and Frank Emeril as vice chair for the 2026 calendar year.

Board members nominated candidates during the new-business portion of the meeting. "I nominate Latricia Beasley Day as chairperson," said a member during nominations. The board then took a roll-call vote and recorded affirmative responses for the appointment. Later the board moved to elect the vice chair; "I make a motion for Frank Emeril for vice chair," a member said, and that nomination passed in a subsequent roll-call vote.

The actions followed a routine consent vote to approve minutes from the Nov. 19, 2025, meeting earlier in the agenda. The board convened its regular meeting, confirmed attendance and declared no conflicts of interest before proceeding to elections.

With the elections complete, the newly seated chair led the remainder of the agenda, which included a Brown Act training by the city attorney and discussion of board priorities for 2026. The meeting concluded after staff reports and a summary of next steps for bringing priority recommendations back for a formal vote.

The board did not take additional binding action during the session; staff will bring prioritized items and any proposed ad hoc committee charters to the next meeting for members to consider.
