Park staff told the Jennings County park board on Jan. 27 that bonus and stipend payments remain pending while county processing continues.
S1 said she submitted paperwork and supporting minutes for employee bonuses to Amy Jump and later left materials with Sarah Abel; she said the auditors' office had not yet completed processing and that staff were unsure whether the matter required council approval. S1 said she would follow up and try to resolve the issue before the next pay period.
Board members urged S1 to continue pursuing the auditor and, if necessary, the county council. S4 said the board had authority under Indiana law to handle certain stipends and encouraged the staff to collect documentation and, if they seek additional funding from the council, to present comparative quotes and justification.
S1 also discussed staff pay comparisons and title rebranding; she said she had contacted similar parks (Clifty, a nearby park) to gather wage information to present to HR and the auditor. The board agreed staff should collect supporting documents and suggested S1 forward a timeline from the auditor's office (which S4 said she had) to guide future budget steps.
Representative quote: "I submitted everything to Amy Jump... I gave her all the paperwork, all the communication we have, the minutes where it was approved." — S1
