City Manager Billy reported the event and confirmed the wet‑zone limits; staff said adjacent parking arrangements were made with a neighboring property. Public Works Director Shane LeBlanc said his team will handle road closure logistics and maintenance-of-traffic and that the city needs to nail down opening and closing hours; he said Public Works is certified for these closures. Police Chief Derek Brewer said he hoped for officer presence at the event and noted that Lieutenant Gardner handles event planning.
Council moved and seconded approval of the wet zone; the motion passed unanimously.
Next steps: staff will finalize closure hours, confirm law-enforcement presence and notify adjacent property owners and businesses of the closure plan.
