Staff also discussed the Milltown/Nulltown bridge deck, which is an asphalt deck installed in the 1970s and showing deterioration. Right-of-way staff said an engineering design could take about a year; construction funding via CCMG would be eligible no earlier than the 2026 cycle and likely move in 2027. Commissioners approved a motion to have the county surveyor proceed with preliminary preparations for the deck replacement.
The board instructed staff to move forward with design and to return with cost estimates and a timeline for grant application when design is complete.
